what do I need to hook up my television?

Vanderbilt operates its own cable television system, TeleVU. Resident students receive cable programming as part of their room and board. Consequently, there is no monthly service charge. All student rooms on campus have one tv outlet. TeleVU offers many of the popular local and cable network channels. Also included are:

  • The Library Channel which broadcasts lectures, movies, and other video as requested.
  • Vanderbilt Video Productions which offers local news, talk shows, and movies.
  • PreVU Channel which provides program listings and campus announcements.

To use TeleVU, you will need to bring:

  • cable ready television and
  • coaxial cable* to connect the television to the TeleVU port.
*Coaxial cable is the same as the cable that connects your cable service at home to your television. These cables are available for purchase at the campus bookstore.

what about HD?

TeleVU is currently not broadcasting any HD signals
